Proudly, we are the fourth generation working in the cattle industry to
provide top quality genetics. Our great-grandfather, Henry Deppe,
started
his career with a purebred Hereford herd, which our grandfather,
Allan Deppe, showed as 4-H projects, and eventually led to his
life-long career
in the cattle business. It was through 4-H cattle projects that he
met our grandmother, Lucille Peters. However, she held the halters
of commercial cattle! Together they began a family crop and cattle
operation in 1946 with purebred and commercial cows.
Our father, John Deppe, was given the opportunity to compete at both
the county and state 4-H level, as well as exhibiting at shows
across the United States. He then began building his own herd by
selecting sound, functional cattle. And today, we are using the
knowledge we have gained from our father and grandfather to produce
top quality cattle for various segments of today's beef industry -
may it be feed lots, breeding programs, or the show ring. It's all
in our genetics!
